Event News 2012.06.11 Santa Barbara Revision
June 11, 2012 : Evan Christopher and Friends
The Marjorie Luke Theater, Santa Barbara, CA
The United States Embassy in the Netherlands rejected visas for the renowned Rosenberg Trio. The concert on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:30pm at the historic Marjorie Luke Theater will still go on. Bassist, Marshall Hawkins; guitarist, Bob Boss; and percussionist, Ramon Banda have come to the rescue to ensure a great night of music despite the disappointment of the Rosenberg's forced cancellation.
The 7:30pm concert will be the same. The musical journey will demonstrate the unique connections of Django Reinhardt to New Orleans by way of his fortuitous meeting with Duke Ellington.
There will also be a 6:30pm pre-concert talk on that will provide concert-goers with ways to understand how circumstances, more than aesthetics have charted the course of jazz music's development
